Description

Our Plastic Carboy fermenters are made from PET plastic (same as 2L soda bottles) which is far more resistant to oxygen than regular plastic. Plastic PET carboys are safer than glass carboys. Full carboy fermentors can be heavy and hard to maneuver and glass can break resulting in possible injury.

Okay, I guess
These carboys are in my opinion better than the square ones. They are easier to sanitize, with a lot less crannies to try to get to clean. I gave them 3 stars because they are not as easy to move around and manipulate without them burping or sucking the liquid out of the airlock. These carboys are very light, but at the same time the plastic is a bit soft. I wouldn't bulk age in them, currently I rack into them from the primary and 30 days later (at most)and I rack to glass.

Light, Compact and Better Than Glass
These are light when empty, and small enough that even when filled you do not have to throw your back out to aerate your wort by vigorous shaking, or lifting them out of a chest freezer. The smaller size is also great if you want to experiment with varying yeasts or fermentation conditions by splitting your wort. Moreover, the smooth and uniform of these carboys makes it easy to see if there are any scratches.

Why use glass?
Easy to carry, great price, not too hard to clean, and won't shatter. What more can you ask for in a fermenter?
