Tri-clamp fittings, also known as tri-clover or sanitary fittings, are probably the most common type of fittings in most wineries (and breweries). The reason for this is that they are extremely easy to keep sanitary, using virtually no threads that tend to be a great place for spoilage organisms to hide & contaminate your wine. The other benefit of these fittings is that they are very universal!
