Description

This is a high quality agglomerated cork with solid end caps. An agglomerated cork is a cork that is composed of many small pieces that are pressed and adhered together. As the quality of cork has declined many wineries have begun to use alternative corks, such as synthetics or these agglomerated corks to insure a good seal in their wine. These corks offer the assurance of a good seal while at the same time allowing the breathing properties that solid corks offer. Agglomerated corks work best with floor corkers as they are hard to put in with hand corkers (they do not compress as much.)

My mentor suggested it since the corks I use seemed to have bug eggs in it that I couldn't see and remained dry even after soaking.

Is the size of these corks #9? I'm using in a manual Floor Corker. #8s are too small. Thanks!
Scott Simon on May 18, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Don't know the size, but I have used these corks for several years in standard red and white bottles with my italian floor corker.

Great Value - Good Quality
I was using corks for my wine making but these are a great value with just slightly less quality. I’ll use the wine within 3 years so these look like they will work fine.

A solid cork for a fair price
Go in my bottles easily with my floor Corker. No leaks drips or cracks out of the first 80 I have used. I will buy these again and you should too.

Agglomerated corks
They are not the same quality as in the last gross of corks and even several before that I have purchased from more wine. A lot of cracks is the end pieces. Probably not a real issue, probably just cosmetic. Anyway I will use them. Also why are they sort of brown instead of creamy white.

Nice quality
I'm not sure if these corks perform better than standard agglomerated corks but they do look better. I use these for premium wines that I plan to age longer than 2 years.
