These are the weak link of my conical and they come from PA so they're a necessary evil.

Because they break frequently and are a proprietary part which requires you to buy them vs buying a new fermenter which I’m considering

Our fermentor gets a lot of use and we run through a couple of o-rings a year. Wish they lasted a little longer, but they get the job done on our pilot system

Replacement Gasket
Just purchased it to have a spare. So far, it's done a great job being a spare.

Perfect Fit
I had an early model conical fermenter from MoreBeer. Customer service was able to find my original order and track down the correct replacement gasket. It fit perfectly!

Does the job
I've had to replace one of these in the 5+ years I've been using my 2 conicals. I find I easily get an airtight seal.

To be fair...
I have made dozens of beers over several years in my 14g, but this lid and gasket are the weakest link. I also use my conical to Brite during cold crash and it requires Jedi skills and lots of probe lube etc to get a true airtight seal. I have glued and fixed two of these now and I'm about to order a third. I love this conical, but the clamp and gaskets are a bummer.
Also, I have mostly stuck with the original gasket because the second one I bought was substantially larger, meaning it more easily gapped out when attempting to seal the lead. These gaskets need to be tight fitting.

comes apart at the seam
I LOOOVE my MoreBeer conical and I hate to pile on about these gaskets, but I've had the exact same problem. Bought my Ultimate Heated and Cooled Conical in Sept '15, for a timeline. And it's a real problem because once the integrity of the seal is bad on either side of the gasket, it becomes unusable. The seal tears/comes apart at the glued seam particularly on the thinner side (lid up). If there is a glue that works for these, I'd love to know about it. Within two to three batches, they give out. I'm being very gentle and careful. If these gaskets can't be cleaned in normal PBW and sanitized in StarSan, they are of no value to anybody. I'm on my third gasket in two months.

I used light sand paper. cleaned with rubbing alcohol and let dry. then applied a tiny bit of super glue and held the two ends together for about 5minutes. Worked well for me and the connection has held up well over 15 batches since I made this repair. Good luck with your repair attempts!

Defective and don't last
As everyone else says here and on the 7 gallon and 29 gallon, these are either a bad or defective design. Mine lasted 8 months.

Warranty did not cover it as I purchased a fews month before I started to use the fermenter. Even with the warranty (which I will make sure I use this time around!!!) it really sucks because they won't pay shipping for warranty items. That means I get to pay a whooping $35 dollars each time I need to get it replaced.

I sure wish I looked more into other conical design. Problem is not many others are heated/cooled. I really hope MoreBeer addresses this issue and their higher then competition shipping to Canada prices.

Breaks too easily
I have to agree with Timothy M on his post. I am on my second gasket. The first one broke at the glued seam. The second one now has a split about 1.5 inches in length where it goes over the flange for the lid.
This gasket needs a redesign at $25.00 a pop.
I now need to order a third one.

Use a cyanoacrylate glue to adhere the ends back together. I've had to do that a couple of times, at least. Brewed hundreds of gallons over the past few years and have not had to replace the gasket...although I will on my next order. Always good to have a spare. ;-) Hope this helps.

Works great
I ordered this yesterday and it arrived today. It is a high quality seal. Nice and soft. It fit my old style 12.5 gallon conical perfectly. It is much better than the original and 100 times better than the McGiver solution I came up with when I discovered the old one was leaking. I can see the splice in the seal but again it is much better than the original was and the fermenter is sealed perfectly with no signs of leakage. If it fails I will update this review.

Breaks too easily
The gasket is glued together, and after a few batches it comes apart at the seam. I have tried a number of adhesives to repair it but none seem to hold. At $25 a pop, you would think they could build something better. After going through 2 of them in less than a year, I'm back to using the original white one that I used before the $200+ upgrade kit, and the seal on that is hit or miss with the domed lid.
