Description

Upgrade your home brewery with an innovative, Stainless Steel, 3.5 Gallon Brew Bucket™ Fermenter!  Many have asked for a smaller BrewBucket, and that has been heard.  The Brew Bucket mini is perfect for 2.5 gallon batches.  With features similar to the original 7 gallon Brew Bucket, the Mini is a great way to do smaller batches.  Whether you are interested in splitting a 5 gallon batch for experimenting, or just brew 2.5 gallons, the BrewBucket Mini is a great choice.

Featuring a conical bottom, 304 SS construction, a rotating racking arm valve, and stackable design, these are space saving feature rich fermentors that are easy and enjoyable to use.

We inspected and used the Brew Bucket™ and one of the most unique features that stood out is that the Brew Bucket can be stacked during fermentation, even with an airlock attached. We also like the conical bottom that allows trub to settle out in a concentrated space that minimizes the surface area of the trub that is in contact with your beer.  The included Patent Pending Rotating Racking Valve is also a brilliantly simple design allowing you to rotate the racking arm inside the Brew Bucket down during fermentation to minimize trub, and later up to get clear beer when racking!   Etched Volume Markers on the inside were super handy when filling.

The build quality is really amazing for the price. Welds are clean. The lid is strong and the spring loaded lid hatches are solid.  The lid includes a removable, molded silicone gasket that ensures an airtight seal.  We love an airtight seal so that we can be sure to see the airlock working.  The welded on stainless handles make the BrewBucket fermentor super easy to move.

Features:

  • 304 SS Food Grade Construction
  • Rotating Racking Arm & Valve (Patent Pending)
  • 3.5 Gal Max Capacity (2.5 gal Batches)
  • 40° Conical Bottom for Trub Trapping
  • Nests for Storage & Stacks for Ferment!
  • SS lid w/ Silicone Gasketed seal
  • Spring Loaded Lid Clamps for Airtight Lid Seal
  • Offset Airlock Hole includes Silicone Stopper
  • Gallon Markers inside for visual volume assessment
  • Stainless construction resists damage and is easy to clean
  • 8.5" Bottom Width / 11" Top Width x 16" Height

Please note: the thermowell pictured in the second photo is not included.

I like to brew small batches, and this is an upgrade from plastic. Hopefully the built in racking arm will also make my racking cane obsolete so I can reduce clutter.

Nice addition for small batches
Really great quality for a reasonable price. My only wish is that the base could be attached to the stainless bucket. It's rather awkward to pick up from the base with no hand holds and no way to set it down otherwise since it has a conical bottom.

Nice but needs improvements
I have the 7 gallon SS fermenter and it is very nice. I would rate that one 5 stars. I needed a smaller one to put in kegerator for secondary fermenting. I make a lot of 2-1/2 to 3 gallon batches. This one needs legs or solid bottom glued on base. It is a real hassel to move this thing while full. It could also use some type of handle.
I made my own base using a 10L bucket from Big local store and cutting hole out for spout. It works great setting the whole thing in the bucket on a 1" foam bottom in the bucket. I used 4 pieces of foam cut out to slide in around the top of bucket for support which keeps the fermenter solid in the bucket. The ridge on the bucket works as a handle to move the whole thing around. It works very well but I shouldn't need to do this if SS made a couple simple modifications. Then I could rate this 5 stars.

Worst piece of brewing equipment i own.
I have been brewing for 10 + years, ran through all kinds of fermenters, buckets, carboys, propane burners, electric set ups ..you name it. I wanted to start doing smaller batches esp for ipas, so theyre not sitting around long, so figured go stainless reduce oxygen, preform (semi) closed transfers...nope! Brewed 2 brews on this both came out tasting horrible, odd off flavors, obvious oxidized flavors.. but how? Well the spigot leaks, the dip tube clogs ... (WITHOUT ANY DRY HOPS...JUST TRUB) even when pointed down so must lift the top for samples and siphons. This thing sucks, i really want my money back, its useless 150 ornament.. and dont get me started on the base!

Exactly what you need for small batches
No surprise for an SS product... this is well made and the perfect size for 2.5 or 3 gallon batches. Removable base is a minor annoyance, but a few inches of duct tape (see photo) easily solved this problem. I saw that one reviewer bought an extra silicone base, which is a good idea. For me the tape works great. Probably will buy a second one so I can split larger batches and try different yeast and dry hop combinations.

Overall blows a carboy or bucket away!
Built very well, heavier materials and better construction than the Anvil fermenter. The lid and top of the fermenter have rolled edges that adds strength. Nice racking valve. I bottle straight from the valve. As I get to the last bit of beer in the bottom I use a spoon to nudge the arm further into the beer to get that last bottle. I’m not a fan of turning the whole contraption. The valve seals well with slight pressure against the o ring. You can easily over tighten it! I would give it 5 stars but I had to buy another base to place it on. It is not attached to its base and unless you have someone following along with you to place the base where you are going you are screwed. They could attach it to the fermenter with all their technology!!!!

Just received but not used yet
Quality if very good. I'm sure it will work great for my small batches. Three things I don't like. 1) The base is not secured to the tank so if you need to move it when it's full, it's going to take two people. 2) It should have handles. 3) Instructions say you must wash the tank with TSP before use. If that is the case they should have included a small packet.

Perfect (Almost)
Absolutely perfect for a half-batch experiment in secondary or longer term aging. The only two beefs I have with this little guy are the noticeable lack of handles and the base. It needs legs like its bigger brother. The base makes it difficult to move around and isn’t quite the perfect solution for stacking multiple. Having said all of that, finding a quality stainless fermenter at this price still yields 5 stars.

Sized for convenience and space!
Perfect for 1-2 gallon heavy, experimental and “special” beers that only you will like. Five gallons of a test beer is rather much to choke down should it not turn out the way you’d hoped it would. Perfect for those Triples and Quads.

Great fermenter, crummy base
Love this little guy, makes Hard Cider brewing MUCH easier than trying to siphon from carboy to carboy. Also just looks really neat on my kitchen counter top. My only gripe is exactly what the others have said... the base is a real pain. it doesn't attach to the bottom so if you want to move this thing you have to have a helper move the base for you.
