Does MoreBeer sell, or does anyone have a recommendation for a good Colander/strainer (that fits well) to put on top for bag draining using the BIAB method?
BEST ANSWER:Hi Keith - We do not carry a colander/strainer for the requested application. Using the dimensions: 13.4" H x 11" W, it shouldn't be hard to find the proper equipment via Google.

I use a stainless double strainer. Larger grain bills (8lbs+) are almost too big for the strainer but it works well. When I'm done squeezing the bag I move the strainer with the grain bag to a 5 gallon bucket. Easy as pie. Whatever final drippings fall in the bucket go into the boil. Might as well use that last 8oz. of wort right?
BEST ANSWER:You should be able to use a 9” false bottom sold by MoreBeer and then adapt to the outlet valve. A 10” false bottom would fit a little better if you can find it.

BEST ANSWER:The kettle comes with a 1/2” female NPT connection. You can use a 1/2” NPT X 1/2” or 3/8” ID tubing. I do not recall the adapter being included. This is a very nice kettle by the way and the valve connects to the kettle mechanically with a very secure and leak free connection. It is the nicest kettle I own.

Solid kettle for 3 to 3.75gal batches. Some prep work needed to clean and passivate prior to use, but very straightforward and easy to do. I recommend this to anyone doing small batches.
I needed something to do smaller batches in for less beer and more experiments. The geometry of the kettle works perfectly with my induction burner and I'm able to boil up to 4 gallons. SS Brewtech is also a fantastic company and always helpful.
Great brew kettle for indoor small batch brewing. I can do 3 gallon BIAB using an induction burner with ease. I do full size batches in another brand's kettle, however chose Ss for the 5.5 due to a the height/width ratio.
The kettle is good looking, distributes heat evenly and is thick enough to retain heat well. Great value.
Nice for 3 gallon batches on induction in the winter time when I brew inside. I have a 20 gallon all grain setup, too. Flexibility is nice. No yeast starter needed, quick clean up, etc. This is a solid kettle for smaller brews.
In the last year I converted my home brewery to a 3 gallon Brew in a Bag setup. This kettle is the centerpiece. Having brewed a few batches on it now I cannot believe I did not make the switch sooner.
Paired with an 1800 watt induction burner this kettle is perfect. The build quality is second to none, the volume markers are accurate, and being able to transfer via the ball valve makes the brew day nice and easy.
If you are wanting to brew all grain batches of 3 gallons or less, this is your kettle. Stop searching and just buy it. You won't regret it.
