Description

Make your own apple cider with this easy-to-use manual crusher! Put the apples (or pears) into the 18.5"x25.6" (470 mm x 650 mm) hopper and crank away. The knife blades cut the apples and the aluminum rollers grab the apples and pull them in and smash them up  yielding a pulp that can then be pressed.

Hand operated, place over one of our white fermenters or directly on top of your press.

Very functional crusher
We use this to crush berries before pressing them-grapes, blueberries, aronia. Pros: sturdy, adjustable, fast for a manual crusher, holds a good amount. Cons: gears are plastic, if you adjust it too small you could damage them; plastic "fly wheel" handle could be improved. Overall, very satisfied. Meets our needs.

Best mill I've found for the price
This mill is made from quality materials and does a reasonably good job of pulverizing the apples. I sent back the last mill I bought, which was a piece of junk. This one is not junk. It could use some improvements though. I found that you can improve the pulverizing by running the apples through twice. Biggest drawback is the plastic hand crank. This was poorly thought out and does not work well. There is way too much flex in the plastic and the handle doesn't stay on. I was able to reinforce it with a steel bar and a new handle. It is way better now. It is still a lot of work to crank it, best if you have multiple strong arms to take turns.
