Description

This beer filter is designed to be used with the KegLand 1 Micron Filter Cartridge. This filter works best when used as the middle man when transferring icy cold uncarbonated beer between two kegs. All you will need to do is purchase tubing, ball locks to connect to your kegs, and the filter cartrdige to use this system.

The included Duotight fittings are compatible with 9.5 mm OD EVABarrier draft tubing. You can connect this tubing to flare style ball lock disconnects using these 9.5 mm Duotight Flare Adapters.

Features:

  • Clear high-pressure housing
  • Purge valve to expel air pockets
  • 1/2" BSP inlet and outlet
  • Compatible with other 10" filter systems

Note: This filter can also be used to filter out yeast in your distillation wash. Removing yeast before you put your wash into your boiler will significantly improve the quality of your final spirit. Many off flavors in distillation can come from boiling yeast cells. When the yeast cells get boiled, they break open releasing many off flavors aromas and fusel oils.

KegLand Part Number: KL02042

The description says it works best when moving uncarbonated beer. If we spund our beers in the fermenter for some carbonation (15psi max, so only partially carbonated), will that have a negative impact on the system or the clarity level? The vessel and keg would both be pressurized, so pressure the pressure should be balanced other than the keg bleeding CO2 for transfer.

Will this work under gravity?
John Cuthbertson on Jul 3, 2023
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the level of filtration you're aiming for. 10 micron filter might work for a little before requiring some pressure in the container to force everything through.

My gut says either way, you'll either need a decent drop for gravity to work, or plan on figuring out a pressurized transfer method

Beer Filtering System
This filter housing works great for filtering beer. The 3/8" push in connectors work great and come apart easily for cleaning. This filter housing empties nearly completely and because it is clear makes it very easy to see when the beer has finished filtering.

So far so good
First use with the washable filter. When putting together, if you think you've used enough teflon tape, use more. But I pressure/transfer tested before real use, saw the fittings leak, rewrapped, then had no issues. The beer transferred smoothly, and the filter I bought did its job.
