This custom made burner is tuned to operate in high efficiency mode, and also in a second high power mode.  In the high power mode, you'll be amazed with 140,000BTU/hr output for blazing fast heating - double the power of our previous burner.  And significantly more power than anything else on the market.  Waiting for a boil is now a thing of the past.  In the high efficiency mode, you'll get 80,000 BTU/hr and superb heat transfer to the wort and whisper quiet operation.  Plenty of power to keep a rolling boil on a 20 gal batch of beer.  Even our efficiency mode has significantly more power than the competition!  To top off all that power we include a patent pending heat shield to keep that massive power off your valve and thermometer and direct it to your wort.

Have the previous model and I love it. This one has more BTUs, an integrated wind shield, will stand at the same height as my other burner. This becomes the new burner for my boil kettle

BEST ANSWER: I seriously doubt it will work satisfactorily on its side.
Will the HellFire work attached to a home gas line and deliver the same results? As we all know home gas lines are low pressure.

BEST ANSWER: From the Hellfire natural gas conversion manual:
Lighting and operation of the burner on propane or natural gas is identical. However, operation on natural gas will reduce the output
power from 80,000 BTU/hr in efficiency mode on propane to 65,000 BTU/hr on natural gas.
What is the smallest diameter kettle size you can use with the Blichmann Hellfire burner? My 10gal SSBrewtechBME is 13.8" dia.

BEST ANSWER: The diameter of the burner opening is 11", so that would be absolute minimum brew kettle diameter. With the adjustable outer brackets as close to center as possible, the distance from the opening edge to the opposite bracket stop is about 13", so your 13.8" pot should be fine. It will be able to slide back-and-forth a bit, but won't be in danger of falling into the burner opening.
Would this still function on the ground without the legs?

BEST ANSWER: Yes Peter, the Hell Fire works fine without the leg extensions. I have two and use them on a bare concrete floor without problem. I would not use them on a painted floor or combustable materials.
What is the diameter of the heat shield around the burner? ( Not the width with legs just the heat shield.)

Hellfire versus AfterBurner
I have been constructing a custom brewing setup and my main burners are the HellFire and the Afterburner. After using it for a bit, I must give a slight edge to the HellFire. The AfterBurner is a great burner and brings the HLT up to temps fairly quickly and I have it dedicated to the HLT with a HERMS coil installed. It is very versatile that way. The only slight ding I give it is that it is a bit finicky to light. It may be my fault , but I must get it turned on just so or it blows the flame out when lighting it. When I shut it of, it blows back through the air intake baffle.

The HellFire lights quickly without fuss and adjusts very easily. I use it on the Boil Kettle which is a BrewBuilt Kettle with the whirlpool. This makes a super combination that I am very pleased with.

Because of this burner I had one of the most hectic brew days in years. I have been brewing for almost a decade on a cheap single jet burner and have my routine down to a tee. This burner ruined my routine!

I missed my strike water temp by 30 degrees and had a massive boil over. This burner is a beast- very quiet but powerful and did as advertised. I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade.

Nice burner for the price
This is one heavy duty burner. I went from a brutus style setup with 23 & 32 tips burners to an eBIAB system (120V) so I needed a burner to quickly head mash/sparge water. With NG, it doesn't have the power as my old 23/32 tip burners but it also doesn't cause black marks on my kettle like the old burners.

Should Have Bought This To Start With
Great Burner. Blichmann puts out some high quality products for sure. This one definitely puts out the heat! I really should have just bought this burner to start with. Can't wait for the legs to show up so I can raise the 30 gallon kettle to a comfortable height.

Intense power
I bought this because I couldn't get 8ish gallons hot fast enough on my stove top. Problem solved. I got it to strike temp faster than I was ready for, and when I boiled, I got up to temp very quickly and had a good hot break. Am very happy with the performance. my only con is the heat shield is sketchy, I can't figure out how to use it to be honest.
