Description

At the base of the Mayacamas Mountain just East of Hwy. 12, Landmark Vineyard is growing some of the finest Mourvèdre and Grenache in the in Sonoma Valley AVA. There are three soil types, composed of gravel, mineral-heavy loam.

Grenache is one of the most widely planted red wine grape varietals in the world. Known for its spicy and berry flavors. Soft on the palate and known to produce wine with high ABV. Typically picked at high brix which requires blending with a lower brix selection or the addition of acidulated water in order to keep the alcohol level below 15% ABV. Blends beautifully with Syrah.

Landmark Vineyard 2017 Grenache notes:

Brix: 26.6
pH: 3.85
TA: 3.1 g/l

Yeast Recommendations

Below please find some notes associated with our recommended yeast strains for use with this fruit. It is important to note that any yeast will in fact perform the fermentation, however these strains have consistently performed well and produced flavors that our customers have been very happy with. To that end, the "correct" yeast strain is simply the one that sounds to you as though it will make the flavors that you are looking for in your wine.

You can add the yeast strain of your choice from the "You Might Also Need" section below. We also strongly recommend the use of the additive pack that you will see listed in this section as it will help enhance the quality of the wine you produce. Order one packet of yeast and one additive pack per pail of must or juice.

BDX - Good all-around choice for berry, plum, and jam in the Classic Bordeaux profile. Moderate rate fermenter with good color retention. Useful for developing structure in the wine by re-enforcing existing tannins- both good and bad, so don’t use with un-ripe fruit.

MT - Soft berry notes along with colour stability and enhanced mouthfeel.

ICV-GRE - Brings fresh, berry fruit foreword along with good mouthfeel. Useful for adding fresh fruit to a blend. Effective for reducing herbaceous and vegetal notes in under-ripe fruit.

Good grapes - way overpriced
The price seems attractive at first but by the time you add shipping it's completely ridiculous. There are several other places you can go and get frozen must from the same vineyards or even better ones, and the shipping is included in the cost of the buckets. I bought grapes from SPAIN for cheaper price per 5 gallon bucket AND shipping was included.
