Description

The BrewBuilt Neoprene Carboy Sleeve works great for maintaining the internal temperature of your 5, 6, or 6.5 gallon glass carboy. Highly recommended for use with the BrewBuilt Carboy CoolStix. The added insulation will lower the amount of cycles needed to maintain fermentation temperatures and greatly assist in cold crashing. The sleeves are 6 mm thick with stitched piping on the edges for exceptional durability.

Would it work for a 6gal plastic car boy?
Thomas Ratliff on Feb 23, 2021
BEST ANSWER: It's a little tight, but works fine for my 6 gallon glass carboy, and my 6.5 gallon glass italian carboy. So I imagine it should be fine for a plastic one. Note you'll probably still want something to insulate underneath as well.
Does this fit the 7 Gallon Fermonster?
Colten Zachary on Apr 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The size you will want for the 7 gallon fermonster is the FE329C made for the 6.5 gallon glass carboy. The Fermonster is 11.3" diameter and the jacket will stretch that last 0.1" to snuggly fit the fermonster.
Is there any reason this wouldn't work as kettle insulation for a 5-6 gallon kettle (Like the SS Brewtech)? I do electric BIAB and the dimensions are almost perfect for that application. With an induction cooktop I doubt the kettle would get hot enough to melt the neoprene. Thoughts?
Tysen Bibb on Apr 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This should work fine for that application since you are using an electric heater. Neoprene seems to have a burn/melting point over 250 degrees fahrenheit so it should be safe. That said I do recommend watching it diligently for the first few brews and you should always have a good fire extinguisher at hand any time you are brewing with any system just in case.
Can I still use a fermotemp wrap with this product on ?
Anthony Alex Michno on Nov 28, 2021
BEST ANSWER: Yep, I use a ferm wrap heater with the neoprene jacket over it to keep temps up. It works well, just remember to set it on a towel or something to help insulate the bottom.

Fits Great on 5 Gallon Carboy
Only reason I didn't give it 5 star is the perfect design would have a bottom. I realize the descriptor is "sleeve."

What it says on the box
Still on my first use, but it seems solidly built and is easy to use. Has an open bottom, so super easy to put on. Done a great job keeping the ice consumption from our cooling system down

works great
I'm still using this for the first time, but it has kept a 5 gallon batch being fermented with Kveik yeast up at 85 degrees when paired with the fermwrap and an inkbird temperature controller. I was skeptical it could hold these temperatures and was worried it would struggle to keep it at 85 with the ambient temperature in my house being no higher than 65, and much colder at night. I'm going to set my temperature controller on my next batch using Kveik at 95 as I'm confident it will work.

It’s colder out than the last time I brewed and these sleeves enabled my batch to ferment at 68 degrees.

Pretty good insulator
Together with a stainless insert, the sleeve allows me to reach an external temperature in a carboy onky about 6° higher than my lagering chamber. Nice.
