Citric Acid

Citric Acid

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

Used primarily in sanitizing solutions to lower pH, therefore making the SO2 solution more effective. Use 1 tbsp per gallon along with 1 tbsp meta per gallon. Citric is not added directly to must prior to either primary or ml fermentation as its metabolism can lead to volatile acidity.

A rough approximate of weight is 1 tsp = 4 grams. We highly recommend using a scale to weigh the product for an accurate dose. We do not recommend relying on these rough conversions for accurate dosage rates.

How much citric acid should I use per gallon for cleaning equipment?
Kathy Dunn on Sep 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use about three and a half grams per gallon plus a gram of 10% potassium metabisulfite mixed into solution. If you have a pH meter check the ph and make sure that it's at 3 or below after you add the citric acid and the one gram in about of potassium metabisulfite in about 3 gallons will give you 25 parts per million which should be more than enough to sterilize stuff without adding tons of sulfate to the stuff you put in the container afterwards

I use it as a laundry and dishwasher final rinse aid
It works great for both. It's much less expensive than the commercial rinse available. The best part is it's non-toxic.
Do your own research then try it, you'll see.
