Description

The perfect container for rehydrating yeast or mixing up additions. Erlenmeyer flasks allow you to swirl your yeast or acid, tannins, nutrients, etc. into solution. The clear glass allows you to see when the solution is fully mixed.

In the lab world, these are known as "Student Grade"

Made from Borosilicate glass, it can be rapidly heated or cooled without the risk of cracking.

BEST ANSWER: #10.5 is too big for this flask - I bought one and it didn't fit. a #10 fits just right.
Does is come with a foam stopper?

BEST ANSWER: It does not come with any stopper, but it is a great flask. Highly recommended. I also purchased the 5000 ml at the same time and wished I’d bought 2 of the 3000 ml for doing back to back yeast batches.
What high of the flask?

MoreBeer Stands Behind These Flasks!
I gave this one star in another review because the bottom was not flat, but I should have waited until I reached out to MoreBeer. They said these are supposed to be flat and are sending my a new one.

I tried to edit or delete my other review, but there's not an option to do this.

I appreciate MoreBeer's customer service!

Will not work on a stir plate.
The flask I received has an extremely concave bottom, over 1/4" deep. I tried to run a stir bar with water, but it throws it within a second or two every time at every speed.

Maybe I received a defective one based on other reviews that say the bottom is flat. I've sent a return request to MoreBeer. If it turns out this one was just defective and they send a good replacement, I'll delete my review if I'm able to.

Gets the job done!
Not much to say. It’s a nice big flask. For high gravity beers where you’ll want 2L of starter, this is a nice option because you can boil your wort right on the stove top in the flask and then stir by hand or put on a stir plate after it cools.

Bottom not flat
The flask does not have a flat bottom, which can be an issue with the stir bar sliding off. On a simple water test, the stir bar stayed in place; however, I have yet to try it with a starter.

On a more positive note, the flask arrived well packaged and in good condition.

Bring on the big stuff. Big beers or lots of beer this will allow you to make a big enough starter for a 10 gallon batch
Good quality thick glass which should hold up overtime. Let’s me do bigger starters.

NOT for use with a stir plate :(
The 3000ml flasks that are currently being shipped have a concave (not flat) bottom. If you intend to use a stir plate, this is not the flask for you. Otherwise, the flask I received is sturdy and without defects. Mike from Customer Service was professional and assisted me with the return.
