EVABarrier Double Wall Draft Tubing - 4 mm ID x 8 mm OD

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

EVABarrier double wall tubing is an excellent choice for all draft dispensing applications. The inner barrier is an excellent gas barrier, keeping oxygen out and CO2 in. The inner wall is also extremely smooth to prevent bacteria and other microbes from attaching to the inside surface. The outer barrier gives the tubing a decent stiffness while still remaining pliable. This makes EVA Barrier remarkably kink resistant and the perfect choice for use with Duotight, John Guest, and other push-in fittings.
The 4 mm (5/32") ID size is perfect for home draft applications where only a short beverage line is needed. We recommend using 5-6 ft. per line for adequate flow resistance.
  • Inner Diameter - 4 mm (5/32")
  • Outer Diameter - 8 mm (5/16")
  • PVC, BPA , and Plasticizer Free*
  • Outer wall prevents oxidation and CO2 loss
  • Smooth inner wall prevents microbial growth build-up

*EVABarrier does not contain plasticizers, or phthalates, that are used to make PVC flexible. These plasticizers are known to leach out into the beer over time and have adverse health effects.

Does this fit on 1/4" barbs that ball lock disconnects frequently come in?
Trevor Mack on Jul 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The 4 mm ID tubing will be too small. The 5 mm will fit, though it will be very snug.

What is the restriction amount on this size and type of tubing?
Robert Zimmer on Apr 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Robert - Take a look at this link: https://www.kegworks.com/blog/determine-right-pressure-for-your-draft-beer-system/

4mm x 8mm = 5/32" x 5/16"
How do you clean EVA line? Is BLC safe?
Andrew Wayland on Jun 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Andrew - We recommend cleaning the beer line as you would with any other tubing.
Can you connect this 4mm ID tubing to a 3/16" tailpiece? I would like to use this as beer line with my intertap faucets, replacing my current 3/16" beer line. Thanks.
Valued C on Apr 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Larry - the 4mm tubing is only 1/16" smaller than 3/16" so if you heat up the end of the tubing before installing, there shouldn't be a problem.
What psi (approximate) should I set my psi to for these lines? I know with a smaller diameter line you would want a lower serving psi to avoid foaming.
Michael Mascianica on Sep 3, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I think of this differently. I adjust the length of the beer line and keep the pressure set to one that is appropriate to the level of carbonation I want. For my old beer line (3/16 I believe), 10 feet worked well, but with the 4mm EVA tubing, I run only 6ft. Works well for me.
Hi. Is this recommended for wine, cider and nitro coffee? Thank you
Marco Jefe on Jul 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Should work fine for any of those products.
The wine and the coffee could possibly leave residue though - might not be able to use those lines for other products later.
What is the recommended inner diameter shank bore for this tubing? 3/16? 1/4? Does it matter?
Jeffrey Hasterok on Oct 6, 2020
BEST ANSWER: 3/16" is closer, but the EVA tubing is very stiff. Better off to use an adapter like this:
Any suggestions for line length for seltzer water? Probably about 30 psi @ 38-40*F. I'm SWAGing about 15 feet, but have no idea really.
jeff royster on Sep 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: While both of the answers discussing foaming are correct, as far as that goes, you still want to consider your dispense speed - a flow rate of about one pint per second is gotten by having about one psig residual after all restrictions are taken into account. The restriction on this stuff is about 2.9 psig per foot.
30 psig - 1 for serve speed=29 psig; .5 psig for shank and faucet (typically) 28.5; .5 psig for every foot from center of keg to tap - for me that's about 2-3 feet, so, 1-1.5 psig =27 psig / 2.9 = 9.31ft and a bit.

Love this stuff! Only wish I would've discovered it earlier. I used this tubing and Duotight fittings for my FermZilla All Rounder setup.

Game changer in a crowded kegerator
This tubing is terrific. I've been using the stiffer doubled walled tubing. Great tubing, but it can make swapping kegs or replacing the lines somewhere between a challenge and a nightmare, especially in a crowded kegerator with four kegs. The flexibility of the EVABarrier tubing is excellent, and the ease of using the Duotight fittings on the shanks and ball lock fittings can't be overstated. I'm actually looking forward to replacing my lines next year, which I'm guessing will take about 10 minutes or less. I'll spend as much time measuring four pieces of tubing as I will installing it.

Good tubing, great pricing
Definite upgrade to my previous vinyl tubing. Stiff enough to not kink, flexible enough to coil up. The slightly smaller ID actually makes a big difference in balanced pour plus I'm only using 6' at 12 PSI instead of ~10' before. Easy to use with Duotight fittings and easy to disassemble for routine cleaning.

So easy
Great tubing that is so much easier to deal with than regular tubing (as long as using duotight as well).

Quality Line and Easy Install
I decided to switch to the EVA Barrier lines and Duotight fittings for my kegerator after having used EJ Ultra Barrier lines for several years. I was intrigued by the convenience of the fittings and the claim of greater protection for the beer in the lines. I also installed a tower fan to keep the lines and taps as cold as possible in between uses. My hope was that I would no longer have to discard the beer in the lines between uses. Unfortunately, that beer line off flavor is still there with these lines, but at least my lines are now shorter and narrower so I have to discard less.

Also of note, I previously had 10 ft. 3/16" lines to achieve the proper resistance. The 5.5 ft. setup MoreBeer recommended pours a bit faster than before, so I might go with 6 ft. lines next time.

Overall, seems a quality product and the install is so much easier with the Duotight fittings. Still get that beer line flavor, but with shorter and smaller lines there's less beer that must be sacrificed.

Michael - Thank you for the in-depth feedback. Some of us with heightened palates would consider it a blessing and a curse at times. Glad to hear the product met most of your needs. Cheers!
