Description

An affordable way to keep your FastFerment warm or cool. Wrap the Fast Ferment in an insulating jacket and with frozen 2 liter soda bottles or a heating pad you can keep your fermenter at just the right temperature. Works up to 30 degrees F below room temperature. Also works with the mounting brackets so you can still mount it to your wall.

How does the CO2 escape?
Thomas Nicholson on Sep 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: There are holes in the top that are covered by velcro flaps through which you insert a bubbler. Because there are two you never have to turn the fermenter more than 90 degrees to line it up.

Good but inadequate for my needs
The jacket fits perfectly but despite the claim that three frozen 2l soda bottles filled with salt water are sufficient to lower wort temperature by 15 degrees below ambient,, I was unable to cool by more than 8 degrees even with an additional 10 frozen water bottles and four ice packs in addition to the 3 frozen 2 liter bottles. Furthermore, the cooling was unable to tolerate the exothermic initial fermentation stage and temp rose too quickly. I will revert to a full water bath for early stage fermentation and move to the jack afterwards next time.
