So I don't have to hold the sparge tube the whole time during the sparging process.

It took me a while to figure out what piece of hose was for as it wasn’t really described in the instructions.

Works like it should
It works good no problems at all. I would definitely recommend it. The O-rings came in handy too my hot liquor tank started while I was filling during the mash and didnt have a spare gasket so I used one of the rings. It stop it completely but sure slowed it down.

Works well, plastic head falls off on occasion
I used this for several years and it worked well. I upgraded to the ultimate sparge arm and won't look back. This one sits too low in a 15 gallon kettle for an IPA or other bigger beers. It occasionally reverse siphons wort back into the hot liquor tank.

The plastic head loosens and may fall in your mash. But it's a great starter.

Not the best design
Although this is a popular design, connecting hoses are difficult due to the odd size. Diffuser keeps falling off and so do the arms. Takes plenty of clamps to keep this puppy working. I simply don't have the patience for it.

If you are just getting into the hobbie this would make the job... it's easy to use and cheap

Works well
Works well plastic diffuser seemed a bit flimsy, difficult to get on the metal tubing.

nice product, works as advertised
I used this for my last brew and the setup was easy. i only used it for the sparge but it could theoretically be used for the mash-in, although the diffusion may incur significant heat loss. This would require testing it out before you end up with a low temp mash.

The weakest link in this product is the plastic diffuser that is on the end. If you aren't careful while you are handling the assembled piece you can easily break it. The heat cycling after a few uses may cause it to become brittle and eventually fail. I'll update if this actually happens.

I also had to finish drilling out the center hole on the T-connector where the stainless rod goes through. It looks as if the hole was not completely drilled through. It's easy enough to fix if you have the right equipment, but if you don't have a drill then you may be out of luck. It's also quite dangerous drilling this hole if you don't have a proper vise or something to hold this piece while drilling.

All in all this is a low priced solution to a common problem when mashing. There are lots of DIY projects out there and other products that may be better quality, but none this competitively priced.
