Description

Liquid crystal thermometer which adheres to the side of a carboy, bucket, or even stainless conical to tell you the fermentation temperature. 44–86°F range (Fahrenheit only, not available in Celsius). This has always been one of our very best selling products.

What we really like about this unit, called The Fermometer, versus generic versions that are slightly cheaper is the more precise scale of 44–86°F. We also appreciate the handy suggested Lager and Ale temperature ranges printed right on it. An example of the more precise scale would be that on this unit it easy to tell 1 degree of difference, say between 72° and 73° degrees. The more generic units can sometimes jump 4 degrees.

Savvy homebrewers know that even 1 degree of temperature difference can have a big affect on the final flavor outcome. You may or may not have control over temperature but it is still helpful to know the exact fermentation temperature and to log it in your records.

Good Thermometer
Only drawback is it is hard to separate the backing so it sticks. It should have a perforation

It’s a great tool. Used for constant temperature checks on a large glass jar for sourdough starter.

They stick to my fermenter and I can easily read the temp. Using this device is a step forward to improved temperature control in order to make better beer.

Better than others I've tried.
I have a couple variations / brands of adhesive thermometer (AT) and I prefer this one over all others. The length of the AT isn't ideal for all brewing vessels, but the markings react well and are clear and easy to read even in low light.

Works, but does not hold up to moisture
I wanted to get something to help monitor the temperature of a 6 gallon carboy, but this thing does not want to stick once it gets wet. It just comes right back off again.

There are no instructions, and nothing else came with it. I'm assuming if the temperature inside the carboy is reached on the strip, it shows a color. But what do the colors mean? Who knows. I'm sure I'm the novice idiot minority here among home-brewers, but you'd think they'd simplify it just a bit for those of us that aren't masters of the art yet.

Response from MoreFlavor
Thank you for your review and we apologize for the confusion with this product. The colors are just there to highlight the temperature range. If three numbers have colors underneath them, then you are in the middle of that range. If just two numbers are different colors then you are just in between those two numbers. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. Cheers!
