Gold Oxygen Absorbing Bottle Caps

Gold Oxygen Absorbing Bottle Caps

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

These Oxygen Absorbing beer bottle caps have a special liner that absorbs oxygen in the bottle's head space. This helps reduce the oxidation that happens during the bottling process, keeps your home brewed beer tasting fresher, and can extend it's shelf life.

Important to note: It is recommended that you only sanitize as many caps as you'll require at the time of bottling. The oxygen-absorbing agent is activated when the cap gets wet. If wetted caps are saved for later use, they'll still function as a normal cap, but the oxygen absorbing agent may be depleted.

If you sanitize these with Star-San right before capping (say 5-15 minutes) does the oxygen absorbing still work? Or do you have to use them unsanitized? And do you no longer carry non-oxygen-absorbing bottle caps?
Roy on Jan 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The oxygen-absorbing compounds are activated by water/sanitizer, but contrary to what a lot of people assume, they do not get "used up" immediately after activation. The caps are designed to absorb oxygen slowly over the next day or two after being activated.

So yes, you should sanitize these like any other bottle caps (5-15 minutes should not make a difference in their effectiveness), just don't sanitize them and then leave them around for days before bottling.
Do these caps fit the ez cap flip top bottles?
Jim Hammer on Sep 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No, EZ cap bottles have tops that do not accommodate crown caps.

Picture does not reflect actual color
The picture and description are "gold", however they are more "brass" colored than gold.

Does the job
Works great. I usually use a sharpie to write a letter or number on the caps to differentiate my batches, and gold works great for this. Never had a problem with these caps, and they look nice too.

Don't overthink it
When this is on sale, just get it. Holds firm on bottle tops. I use a bench capper for the small amount of experimental beers that I don't keg.

works perfectly on the 500ml sour bottles
Recommend this product, they are oxygen absorbing caps, will last a long time. I have also done the Cantillon style cork & capping with these as well and they work.

Provided a good seal
I just bottled my first batch with these caps. They went on securely and believe I will not have any issues. The price is right, mostly for the oxygen absorbing caps.
