Description

From the Hop Research Center in Hüll, Germany, Ariana was developed from a cross breeding of Herkules and an unspecified wild male hop. Although it has a high enough alpha acid content to be used for bittering, Ariana's oil content makes it an ideal choice for aroma additions and dry hopping. The aroma profile is dominated by sweet, tropical fruit notes of pineapple and passion fruit, along with citrus and berries. A delicious addition to your next Pale Ale, IPA, or Hazy.

Dark raspberry flavor, piney blackberry bitterness, sweet dark fruit aroma
Drinking a my last beer hopped with only Ariana hops. Brewed a 6.2% ABV Ale with ashburne mild + golden promise, fermented with Irish ale yeast. For 5 gallons, boiled 4 oz for 60 minutes and 4 oz for 15 minutes. I would hop at this level again. Hop is on point -- it's a little hoppy, like a strong pale ale or light ipa, but not like the 188 IBU estimated -- maybe it supports the attenuated beer well. The flavor of the hops are like a dark raspberry, the bitterness lingering kind of like a piney blackberry, and the aroma like sweet dark fruits. A bit of a cheerful hoppiness. No tobacco notes as stated by some sources. Not detecting much vanilla. Definitely a nice hop. It did great in this beer. Won't mind using it again when I require its qualities! I've also dry hopped with it and that went well, but need to do it for longer than 30 hours next time for the aromas to stand out.
