Description

Made in Italy, these are premium glass carboys are set apart from others because the glass has a more uniform thickness with less inclusions. Inclusions, or internal defects, occur when the glass is not cooled slowly over a longer period of time. This 5 gallon size works great as a secondary fermenter and for fermenting meads/wine.

Our top recommendation for glass carboys.

Good, minor imperfections
Only gets 4 stars since both of mine had minor imperfections and the glass as a whole seems thinner than the same brand ones that are older (pre covid). Comparing glass thickness these are definently lighter and thinner and the imperfections are 1mm or less sized bubbles in the side wall. Not a huge deal but there's not a single bubble on ones I bought pre covid

beautiful glass, small mouth
Mouth diameter is a little smaller than the domestic version. If you use a stainless steel filter on your racking cane, be aware it probably will not fit. Mine didn't. Typical racking cane still fits fine. Use this for bulk aging when you don't need to filter hop material.
