Pre-Milled:
Description

  • At just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lover's dream. A truly sessionable IPA overflowing with hop character
  • Includes Warrior®, Centennial, and Simcoe® hops
  • Estimated ABV: 5%
  • Estimated IBUs: 58-62
  • Makes 5 gallons of finished beer

If you're looking for a new session IPA to obsess over, look no further!  We recently changed this recipe slightly, making all finishing hops Centennial (rather than a blend between Centennial and HBC-342).  We made sure to keep the Simcoe® dry hop though, as we felt this really brought a "pop" to the aroma!

While the general rule of thumb has been "one or two IPAs and you're feeling it", at just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lovers dream.  The type of IPA that you can open up at noon, get the grill going, and forget worrying about how you're going to feel after drinking 8% IPAs for a few hours!  (Yes, we know that feeling too...)

A half pound of corn sugar helps this one finish out nice and dry, while a small amount of acidulated malt will help make those hops pop. The clean bitterness of Warrior® balances perfectly with a slightly sweet malt profile, all topped off with a white, frothy head thanks to the wheat malt.

So what are you waiting for?!  Order your kit today and let the obsession begin!

  • Makes 5 gallons
  • Estimated Original Gravity: 1.048-1.052
  • SRM (Color Range): 5-6
  • IBUs: 58-62

This is one of my favorite kits that all my friends love. Is that because the beer is free or it's that good?

Not an IPA??
I've used MoreBeer for years now and never disappointed but this one is a standout. It clocks in at just over 5% ABV but gives every indication of being an 8% IPA. An abundance of aroma, balanced bitterness, and ample hop flavor. Add a little gypsum to make the hops stand out a little more. The acidated malt put my pH at 5.4 with no adjustment. Just perfect. This will be on my regular rotation from now on.

Great session IPA
For a session IPA this has a lot of great flavor. It has more of a hop aroma/flavor than a bitterness and is very pleasant.

BIAB and better than expected!
I bought this kit and milled it myself in the Riverside show room. I used thed BIAB method and my OG was far higher than expected. I just finished primary and dry hoping. It smells very strongly of mango, guava, passionfruit and my ABV is near 8.5%... I keep taking sample readings to make sure I am correct and enjoy drinking those because they are so freaking tasty! This will be something I brew again and again I already know.

Good IPA!
It's an ok IPA. Not a hop overload at all. I'm not a fan of the HBC-342 hops, I don't think it added much of anything! As stated in another review very mellow. Would I brew this again? No, I like a bolder hop kick! But, if Pale Ale's are your thing and you want just a little more hop kick this might be for you.

This one is pretty good
I liked this kit and it was very tasty but I found I'm not very fond of the HBC-342. It was too melony for my taste. As always though, all hops were fresh and smelled great when they arrived. I will steer clear of the HBC-342 in future brews.

One Word
"FANTASTIC" Morebeer hits it out of the Park with this recipe. I bumped it up a tad in the dry hop, to suit my tastes but a REALLY good IPA.

Great kit. A favorite of my friends and family
A light IPA that doesn't blow out your palate. I will be brewing this regularly with the hot weather coming.
