Description

Tropical IPA is a unique Saccharomyces strain formerly classified as a Brettanomyces strain, that produces delicate, tart, tropical mango and pineapple fruit characteristics with a clean finish. Try it at its higher temperatures to bring out the tropical profile. It’s stubbornly non-flocculent, but worth it.

Attenuation: 85+%
Flocculation: Low
Alcohol Tolerance: 10% ABV
Optimum Fermentation Temp: 75-85°F
Cell Count: 225 Billion

Please Note: When choosing an ice pack option beware that the liquid yeast will not arrive cold even when shipped together. Ice packs and insulated mailing options are designed to keep the yeast colder for longer during shipment, but they will not ensure that your yeast arrives cold. We will not replace liquid yeast that arrives warm. During warmer months we strongly recommend you choose dry yeast.

I often use tropical and fruit-forward hops, and the weather is getting warmer. This can tolerate the higher temp

Awesome Tropical Yeast
First time I tried Omega yeast and it was fantastic. Fast, clean fermentation. I used the tropical yeast to make a citra style ale with outstanding flavors!!! I'm hooked.

You guys should add this info to the description
This is from Omega Yeast website:

This strain tests positive for the STA1 gene, an indicator of Saccharomyces cerevisiae var. diastaticus, and is capable of fermenting dextrins, resulting in very high attenuation.

Did as a SMASH with pale malt and my favorite hop (galaxy) at 40 ibu predicted and 6%. Very weird flavor to say the least. Fermented at 70 degrees to have mild ester production. Very stubborn yeast did not flocculate (I don't really care about flocculation). Huge nose nose of pineapple and mango. I've done mango beers that had less mango on the nose. However, the beer had a bit of fusel alcohol taste and was very dry. Definitely a hard yeast to work with on the flavor profile sense of thing but I do see myself buying this yeast again in the future to do more experiments.

Don’t by liquid yeast from MoreBeer
Yeast was hot and dead upon arrival. I paid for an ice pack but it had a hole in it and completely melted upon arrival so the yeast was hot. I pitched the yeast as normal
And after 9 days still no fermentation. I had to order another package of yeast from a competitor that properly packed the yeast to keep it cold and now my beer is fermenting. I don’t recommend buying liquid yeast from this company.

Great yeas strain
Fermented at ~78-80 degrees and turned out great. IPA attenuated down to 1.005 in around 3 days. Will definitely use this yeast again.
