Directions:

Is the solution for one time use, or can it be stored and reused? How long does it last?

BEST ANSWER: The buffers come as a dry compound, to which you add water. If you just need to do a couple of tests, just use some of the dry compound and store the rest for later (keep track of what fraction of the container you've used so you know how to mix the remaining portion later on). My understanding is that the dry compound is good for 2 years.

I keep my solution in a clean glass kombucha bottle (with a lid) in the fridge. It is still accurate after 3 months. One packet makes enough solution for a dozen uses. I pour the solution into the bottle lid when testing so very little is needed.

I typically prepare the solution and store at 4C. Before each, I bring the solution (or a small portion of the main solution) to room temperature. Depending on frequency of use, I'm able to store the solution for at least 2-3 months.

After mixing it can be stored for up to 90 days and reused as long as the pH meter is not introducing outside fluids (rinsed and dried prior to use).

I pour a small amount into a shot glass each brewday, so they last me a while. I wouldn't keep for over a year.
