Description

A simple but effective screen that works very well when racking with whole hops, oak, or fruit in the fermenter. Simply slide this over the bottom of the racking cane and begin the siphon! Made from Stainless Steel mesh. Some customer are also using this in the their keg attached to the downtube.

Note - You may want to use a hose clamp to tighten this to the racking cane. Designed to fit over a 3/8" stainless steel racking cane.

Good solution for conical fermentor racking arm? I believe the racking arm in my SS Brewtech fermentor is 1/2", so one question is whether this will fit around it. I would also like to know whether it's too long for that application (not much room in the cone part of the fermentor where the racking arm is). I use pellet hops. I don't mind small bits getting through, but I want to avoid clogging at the keg post during a closed transfer. If this isn't a good solution, what else is? I would like to dry hop with loose hops to maximize contact, so those hop canister thingies don't seem great to me.

BEST ANSWER: This isn't what you want. You are looking for an inline filter, like the Bouncer Mac Daddy inline beer filter. You can use different gauge screens to dial in what size you want to catch.

Don't do it.
Fits no cane, ever. Very small, not well made. Total waste of money. I see other complaints, and I wonder why I didn't see that straight off. They must make a ton of profit on this or why would they carry it? No way.

Nope
Didn't fit my racking cane... wast of money... the size of the screen doesn't even look like it will filter hops or trub... don't waste your time or money

Hi Jeffrey, we're sorry to hear the filter didn't fit your racking cane. Is your racking cane a 3/8'' stainless cane?

Used for dry hopping in a keg, but used pellet hops - clogged instantly and wasn’t able to unclog despite trying to clear with co2 and time.. Probably works fine with hole cone, but will use in the future in conjunction with some other type of screen or hop bag

Does not fit plastic racking canes
This will only fit over stainless steel racking canes, it will not fit over plastic ones.

Keg Dip Tube Coarse Filter
I use it as a keg dip tube filter for dry hopping. It fits perfectly with a hose clamp. Works very well with whole leaf hops. Not so well with pellet or powder hops.

Been using these for literally decades
Technically 2 decades. This works perfectly for me with my stainless racking cane. I can dry hop with 4 oz pellet hops, without bagging them, and this screen filters it all out when I rack into an additional carboy or keg. Just don't slide the screen all the way up on the end of your racking cane. Leave a good 1.5" to increase the effective filtering surface. Works like a charm.

Note: For Racking CANE, not auto-siphon
Probably should've done more research before impulse adding this filter to my cart.

I'd thought this would fit on the 3/8" auto-siphon, but it is meant to go over a simple racking cane, so was slightly disappointed when I opened the box.

That said, this little filter works like a charm for its intended purpose.

Works well. I added a worm clamp to hold filter in place on the stainless racking cane.

Awesome little screen
Put these on all my kegs and haven't had an issue. Even using whole cone hops without a hop sock.
