Description

Rubber style with two attachments for vinyl blow off hoses (3/8 or 1/2''). For use with our 3, 5, 6, or 6.5 gallon glass carboys with smooth necks. Can also be used on 5 and 6 gallon plastic carboys

TIP: Carboy hoods are exceptionally useful for blowoff tubes. Just add 3' of 1/2" racking tubing into a bucket of water as your airlock.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, the FE500 carboy hood will fit snugly on the 2000 and 3000 mL Erlenmeyer flasks.

Great for blow off tubes
Works great for blow off hose into growler or bucket. I use them for all primary fermentations with a 1/2” hose.

Probably works great if it fits.
Did not use. Did not fit my 6.5 carboy. Should’ve researched more. I assumed carboys were standard. This was too big.

These need a plastic zip tie on the neck. Tighten with pliers. Will wiggle off so you can use later.

Does not fit 6.5gal glass carboy
I am usually a huge fan of morebeer but this DOES NOT FIT 6.5 GAL GLASS CARBOYS. It fits my 5gal great but not 6.5gal. I was looking for the blue carboy caps (can't find on morebeer anymore) as these fit 6.5gal glass carboys great. Someone else said it best...at a few bucks it is not worth returning but do not buy for 6.5gal carboys.

New hood does not fit properly
My older hood fit perfectly on better bottles. The new hood does not make an airtight seal with the better bottle, and the thermowell port is so tight that it is nearly impossible to get a thermowell in without keg lube and so far impossible to remove once inserted. The rubber compound on this one seems to be much stiffer than on my older carboy hood.

Does not fit snugly
Does not fit snugly, air leaks around the seal. Compared to my 4-years old hood, the plastic seems to be less flexible.

Snug fit and good quality.
Saw quite a few reviews on other sites about fitment issues. The ones I received from here for extremely snuggly. Almost enough to lift an empty carboy from the cap alone. Very satisfied with fitment.
