I prefer them
Find these much handier than corks for 1 gal & 1/2 gal jugs, Only draw back is most 1 piece airlock stems are too narrow to seal so must use 3 piece air locks which work great

Hole for Aerator Leaks
Very convenient but with this minor issue. I used a plastic "S" shaped aerator. It fit snuggly in the hole and initial fermentation passed through the aerator as expected. As fermentation "stopped", I saw continued CO2 activity on the surface of the must. I changed the screw top for a rubber bung and CO2 passed through the aerator.

Nice cap but it only fits a specific airlock
The hole in the cap is too large for the S style airlocks I use. I can't use the caps with the airlocks but it's ok since I only ordered a couple.

Most Air Locks do not fit!
Order the air locks advertised along side this product and you will be in trouble. The diameter of the hole is larger than most common air locks. Use a rubber stopper and avoid the hassle.

They leak
None of mine broke but, I get no bubbles in the airlock. I ordered rubber stoppers, and now I get bubbles!

Same as others - Eventually Cracked
Like others, I've lost all my caps to cracking at the corner where it goes from the threads to the top. I used them without much issue for about a half dozen 1 gallon batches and then they start breaking which tightening them down. The last one that cracked I only noticed because I had split a batch and two days into fermentation one airlock stopped bubbling but I could see was still very active. There was a crack on the back side from where it was sitting so I would never have visually noticed otherwise. Last order I finally replaced everything with drilled rubber stoppers.

would not buy
I bought 3 of these caps to go with my green 1 gallon carboys and s shape airlocks. When I tried to brew my wine the airlocks did not fit snugly in the caps and I was forced to use a balloon to brew my wine.

Haven't had any problems yet.
No cracking here, but I'll keep an eye out.

I Agree!
I had the same problem.

I made up my batch and then set it into my cooler as normal. The first two days, everything was good. But when I checked on it on the third day the top was cracked. The very next day the whole thing was cracked to the point the top came completely off.

I have never seen anything like this in all the years I've been brewing. I can only guess the SanStar cleaner eats this type of plastic. I think they need to replace it with a better grade.

Do to this issue, I had to toss out my batch. I'm glad it was only one gallon, but it still sucks!

THEY KEEP BREAKING!
I love most of more beer's products. But I've ordered about 7 of these things so far. 3 of them have broken. Luckily my batches haven't gotten infected. They work pretty well, but they shouldn't be breaking left and right. I thought the first time was because I had the airlock pushed in too far. The second time I had it in there pretty snug but not as tight, but it opened up a nice crack too, who knows how long it was sitting there partially open. I was about to immediately replace the one that was broken today with one I had been using and boom it had yet another crack in it. Thank god I had more laying around, this time I just gently set the air lock in and I'm hoping it doesn't break. The cracks are pretty big, yet they are very hard to see because of where they are at. Please more beer help me find something better than these because I don't want my batch to turn into mold.
