Speidel was the original manufacturer of the bladder press. While similar to the Italian models in operation, Speidel offers a few quality upgrades. To obtain a better press Speidel uses a slotted screen, similar to what is offered on large commercial presses, instead of a screen with circular perforations. Speidel wine presses also offer superior hardware, and a recessed valve assembly (to reduce accidental breakage). Insert bag and outer splash guard included.

Overall height is 42" and basket height is 23.5".  Press cycles average around 45 minutes.

Note that Speidel offers a 90L model in place of an 80L model.

Good press but a couple minor issues
This is a good press. Well built. Easy to use. I have had it for about 8 years and put about 10 tons of fruit through it. I have only 2 complaints about it. 1) the paint/coating started to fail and peel off a couple years ago. It has now peeled off most of the press. I haven't used and harsh chemicals on it and 10 tons really isn't that much for a press like this. The paint (or powder coat?) should really hold up better. I contacted the manufacturer but they were no help. 2) unloading the press is pretty difficult for one person. The best way I have found is to put inverted trash can over it and lay the whole thing down on its side. Then pull the press out and set it back up. Then set the trash can up and shake the pressed fruit out of the basket and liner. Kind of a pain and very heavy

Very nice press.
We have been using this press for two seasons. It gives the fruit a gently press and the juice coming out is mostly clear to very clear. It takes us about 15 minutes to bring the water pressure up and do a full press. We have used it on whole grapes, must with skins, and fruit. I think it works better on grapes and grape must . But we have not put very many different kinds of fruit other than grapes. We pressed pears and watermelon. The pears worked out fine having frozen them first then pressing after they thawed out. The watermelon was messy and the pulp was too thick to press through the screen. As the pulp built up next to the screen it basically prevented any juice from coming out where you want it to come out. We had watermelon pulp and juice being squirted out the top and bottom. Everything and everyone was sticky when we finished.
Some points to consider:
We put concrete blocks under the legs to get it high enough to get a bucket under the spout.
You use a lot of water. We are working on a way to capture the runoff water and recycle it
I suggest using a power washer to clean it up. It can be cleaned by hand but it’s very time consuming and hard on your hands. I had lots of small cuts from the stainless steel screen.
Putting the outer vinyl cover is a bit awkward to do by yourself. Much easier with 2 people. It would be nice if this was stainless too. Something rigid that didn’t collapse
With the shape of the bladder the bottom 6 inches doesnt completely press. We leave about 6” of the press cake in the press if we are pressing more than one batch to lift the grapes up and get them in that pressing zone. But this of course is a personal preference
The inside cloth is showing some wear and tear after 2 seasons. I think it will need to be replaced after another season. I wash it in the washer with unscented oxyclean.
We love this press .. when we gear up to a big harvest at our vineyard we are considering buying a second one rather than a big press.

Time Saver
We used Bladder Press last season to process 2.5 tons for grapes. Our old 45 Basket Press is a thing of the past. This amazing piece of equipment saved many hours of hard work and my aging back.

Solidly built, but leaky plumbing
Solidly built and easy to empty out. But the hose coupler leaked to the point of uselessness - it was kindly replaced by Morewine. The pressure release valve also leaked at pressure barely above zero.
Hose coupler leaked profusely and pressure release valve also leaked at near zero pressure.
