What is the threaded shank diameter?

What size tubing will fit and can the handle locked in the open position?

BEST ANSWER: Tubing with 1/2 or 3/8 inch inner diameter will work. I prefer the 3/8, but its a bit tough to attach. The handle will NOT stay up on its own.

Looking at the design, I don't see anything externally that would keep this handle from stopping in the fully up/open position. Am I missing something?
