This is pretty light compared to other chocolate malt that's closer to 500 L can I use this as the sole dark malt for a stout?
Tim Sullivan on Jun 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The other posters are correct that you will want to also add a grain in the 500L range to get the right color and roasted flavor stouts are known for.
Is this malt or roasted unmalted grain? The MoreBeer site seems to use the term malt for everything, including all cases of unmalted roasted grain. I am looking for clarification between roasted malt and roasted grain.
JackHorak on Jan 13, 2024
BEST ANSWER: I believe it is a malted barley that has been kilned to whatever specifications of viking malting! Chocolate malts are not raw barley roasted
