Is this comparable to Rex X malt?
Michael F on Nov 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes both are similar but you have to use a lot in grain bill to bring out lots of red color. I used 50/50 us 2 row and redx or red active and should have used more red to bring out more color.

Excellent sub for melanoidin malt.
Red ale malt is an excellent substitute for melanoidin or aromatic malt. Great for malt forward brews and good for amber coloring.

Great Malt
I use the entire Viking line, the flavors are rich and if a little darker, qwitcherb****ing you probably are making hop soda anyways!
