Had to pick this because the pH Electrode on my SC300 failed.

when it advertises as dead in three years, and it gets goofy in five years, can not be trusted. Better living through Chemistry, but its not an air- cooled Volkswagen.

Perfect Replacemeny
Ordered this to replace the original probe that would no longer calibrate. Original probe is probably 5-6 years old.
New probe calibrated immediately.

SC-300 pH meter is good, TA meter is not.
When the wine has a high acid, the Vinmetrica 300 does not register the correct value, as described in the instructions. I lost 45 gallons of wine last year due to the meter, I am not happy. When I mix 5 ml of wine along with 15 ml distilled water and 5 ml of solution, the pH does not get close to 822 before all the solution has been added, therefore I have no indication of the acid value. I replaced the probe and nothing changes, it's still off. I've not even tried the SO2 test.

I recently purchased the Total Acidity Test Kit as a backup system. With this system I get a more accurate reading as to the acid. I would not buy another SC-300, it's not worth the investment. I spoke with another user of this system, and they too are frustrated with it.
