Use it in small quantities for a 'SF Red Hell' lager with SF Lager yeast. Provides a nice maltiness and reddish tone.

Will not produce red beer
I used at the max (20%) and the beer does not have even a trace of red in it. Flavor is good though and the beer scored 35.5 in competition.

American Red Ale
I will not brew my American Red Ale without this malt. Makes up 8% of my grain bill along with 2 row, golden promise, victory and melanoidin. Excellent red color, strong malty flavor and aroma, and a smoother lingering head and finish

CaraPils/Caramel Double Whammy
I had a recipe that called for carapils and caramel. I reduced those values (using beer smith) and added some carared and loved the results. Good smooth body, foamy head, and spot on color.

Perfect in Red Ales
I use about 5% of CaraRed in my American Red ales. It adds I nice malty balance and red hue.
