Wine Corks - Synthetic Supercorks

Wine Corks - Synthetic Supercorks

Please select from the following option(s) to see pricing and availability.

A synthetic cork with the ability to last 4 years plus. Supercorks are manufactured in Italy by Enolandia. One of the very first companies to make a synthetic cork, they have a history of quality since the 1980's. Supercorks have been tested to keep their elasticity and sealing integrity for at least four years. This makes them a nice alternative for winemakers who want to eliminate the potential issues of porosity or TCA contamination inherent in cheaper natural corks but also want the ability to age wine more than a few years. This cork measures 23x38mm.

We recommend using a floor corker to more easily insert the cork into the bottle.

Depending on the diameter of the bottle mouth, these corks require 48 to 55 lbs of force to be removed. They can be very difficult to remove with a standard twist and pull corkscrew, and therefore we recommend removing the cork with a wine key or levered corkscrew to provide additional leverage.

This cork will last significantly longer than most natural corks. If the cork is heated in warm water, it makes for an easy bottling process.

I chose these corks because of their estimated longevity, 4 +years.

Not universal
Had to return these. They are advertised as “universal” but do not fit a standard wine bottle. They’re too wide, and even required tools to get the first one unjammed from the corker.

Great Cork
Fits a good range of bottles from ceramic MKM 750s, to Berlin Aspect 750s, and your standard wine bottle necks. They don't like hand corkers, but neither do I. Work really well with my Portuguese floor corker. The corker leaves a very shallow dimple, but I wax my bottle tops anyway. It might just be my press, or it might be the density of the corks that result in the dimple. Either way, I'm very happy with these corks.

No image is nice .
I like the fact that the corks do not have any trite images printed on them . The warning that you at least need a floor corker should not be taken lightly. . I wish they were a tad longer. I have used other brands that were easier to remove and have remained effective for five years .

Great product
I have used synthetic corks for over 15 years and started using these 6 years ago. Before a lot of wine leaked and was very disappointed until I found these corks. I still have wine bottled with these corks and the wine is in excellent condition. On my second 1k bag now and never had one bottle leak. I highly recommend them. I belong to a wine making club and buying them for members as well. Keep up the good work.

Nice corks
These synthetic corks are much more durable than their natural counterpart option. I've had these corks in bottles for four to five years with no problems. The trick to bottling with these corks is to heat them in warm water (130 degrees or so) for about 10 minutes to make them more pliable for compression and insertion by the corker.
