Description

Cellar Craft's Showcase Series red wine kits include a huge 18L of varietal juice and concentrate! Additionally, Cellar Craft is the only kit manufacturer who includes a crushed skin pack made from over 12lb of entirely new, fresh, never-processed skins that come from the same harvest lot as the juice in your kit. These skins have more tannin and flavor to impart in the wine and are 100% true to the varietal that you're making. This unique practice in the wine kit industry may cost a little more to produce, but we think you'll agree that the results are well worth it!

Like other kits on the market, Cellar Craft's Showcase Series red wine kits come with all the ingredients you'll need to make a great wine out of the box. However, we encourage you to also experiment with different yeast strains and oak styles to create a wine that is exactly what you're looking for and truly unique.

While technically ready to bottle and drink in 6 weeks, Cellar Craft recommends aging these wines for 1 year or more to see full development of the wine's character. Choose to age in the carboy if you want the opportunity to play around with acidity and finishing tannins later, or age in the bottle to see what you get straight from the manufacturer. Just be careful - we all know how hard it is to keep your hands off once the wine's in the bottle!

Makes 6 gallons, or 2 cases, of finished wine

Cellar Craft's Description

Multiple medal winner!
Our original “Crushed Grape Pack” wine. Super-Tuscan styled wine vinted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and other native Italian varieties. Fermented on Yakima crushed Merlot grapes. A big, full-bodied wine with solid structure and bold fruit notes. Complex cassis, plum and cherry notes balance the bold tannins. French and American oaks contribute toasty vanilla and greater depth in this intense wine. Like all “Crushed Grape Pack” wines, a minimum of 6 months aging is required to begin to see harmony develop. A year is better and 2 years yields a very special wine for your enjoyment.

very good kit
I like these kits better than RJ or wine expert.
The Rosso Fortissimo is similar to a super tuscan
I have ordered 2 more of the showcase collections.

Nice Italian blend
Made this last year, and bottled about 8 months ago. It was a bit rough after fermenting (like most are), but I used a longer conditioning process before bottling and it balanced out nicely. And it has definitly improved after 8 months in the bottle.

Quality of Rosso Fortissimo
I had high hopes for this wine as I daily punched the skins down during fermentation, savoring the aroma with thoughts of great things to come. Regretfully, the aroma was the most positive quality of this wine kit. It's drinkable, mostly because I paid $123 for the kit, but my finished product has no structure. It's not a wine I would buy a second bottle of off the shelf. I wish I could be more positive, but this wine just isn't worth the effort. The Old Vine Lodi Zin on the other hand is really nice and the best of 9 wine kits I've tried so far of various brands.

Response from MoreFlavor
are you sure you had a measured 6 gals ?
I never add water after primary I just
add bottles of like wines and this prevents
watered down or weak structure in your wine.
I hope it comes around after some more age.
Cheers

Nice complex red
Worth the cost over the default cab. Can't wait for this to age six more months!
