Description

A clarifier that has received attention on The Brewing Network and is used by several of our commercial brewer friends. While beers cloud for different reasons and there is not one silver bullet to clear all beers, Biofine has proven effective in most situations. It is an easy way to help ensure clarity without having to filter.

Biofine strips out all remaining yeast in 24-48 hours! Speeds up the aging and clarify process by 2-3 weeks! You'll find a layer of darker yeast that settles on top of your yeast bed in your fermenter. This layer is thicker than normal and acts as a blanket. This settling process avoids your yeast from being disturbed as you move your carboy. Biofine brings out maltiness and accentuates esters produced by yeast.

Biofine Clear is a purified colloidal solution of silicic acid (SiO2) in water that has been specially formulated for the rapid sedimentation of yeast and other haze forming particles in beer. (Vegan friendly - no animal products) Shelf life is 24 months from date of manufacture, unopened.

Dosage Rates: 1/4 Tbsp (3 ml or 1/10oz) to as much as 2 Tbsp (31 ml or 1 fluid oz.) per 5 gallon batch of beer.

Store in cool, dry conditions above 41 degrees F and do not allow the product to freeze.

Some beer styles don't react with certain dose rates. You may have to add more to have an effect. We recommend starting small and increasing your dosage rates once per day until clarification takes place.

This is an effective clarifier for my beers and is easy to use. I find I need to use doses on the higher end of the recomendations. I think that you should sell this product in larger bottles

Product is awesome. Morebeer not so much.
I love biofine clear. It works wonders to clarify beer. I like it so much I decided to buy a liter of it. With a supposed 2 year life and my normal dosing rate being 1/2 once I figured I'd go through most of it before it expired and certainly save money (and packaging waste) over the single-once bottle. You can imagine my disappointment when the package arrived with a 3/31/20 expiration date. I immediately called Morebeer and they agreed to send me a new bottle without any pushback which was great. Its too bad the latest bottle expires July 2020. I went from 1 month to 4 months for a product they advertise as having a 24 month life span. I definitely won't be ordering anything from them again. If you do order biofine from them, I'd at max only order what you need that month. If they're willing to send full liters that expires 1 and 4 months out I can only imagine the age of the stuff they're bottling to sell an once at time. Truly disappointed because I always like ordering from them but just can't trust them anymore to not pass along either fake information (does this really last 24 months) or poor inventory management (why do you have 23 month old perishable products on your shelves?

Works for me
I use this anytime I want a clear beer on the malty side. Perfect for my Kolsch, Helles, and west coast beers. Obviously, I don't use it on hazy beers like a hefe, wit, neipa.

I find that it doesn't affect the body or flavor too much, but it does give a very slight nudge to the maltiness when I sampled the same beer before and after adding. I add half a bottle at kegging time.

The first time I used it, I thought: this reminds me of a large-scale commercial beer. Clean, crisp, etc...

Decent product. Seems to work.
I used about 1/4 of the bottle on a Mexican lager that had been lagering for about three weeks. I let it sit for three days after adding and then legged. Beer came out crystal clear with no filtering. This was my first attempt at this beer so I can’t speak to its clarity without using biofine.

I'll be using this every time from now on.
This product works well when used during the transfer from primary to secondary/bright tank as it is easier to get it thoroughly mixed in during transfer. I doubt that there would be sufficient yeast left after clarification for bottle conditioning so plan on kegging.

Biofine works well
Biofine combined with a cold crash produced a very clear ale. Used about 27 ml in a 4 1/2 gallon batch over about 3 days. I recommend biofine for helping to create a very clear beer.

Great clarifier
I've used this in a few kegs of beer now and will vouch for it.

It dropped a hoppy German Pils to crystal clarity in a matter of days. (Great when using quick-lager method!) It also took a heavily hopped red ale to brilliantly clear in the same amount of time.

Both beers were hop forward and retained a fresh, late hop flavor profile. I was concerned that it would strip the hops from my beer, but it did more to focus the flavor profile.

In the past, I have used ClarityFerm and standard gelatin and found this to be superior to each. Similar to gelatin in terms of performance, with less fuss.
