Will the Kelly Bottle Capper cap the 500mL Belgian/Champagne style bottles?

Kelly Bottle Capper
Kelly Bottle Capper
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure about the Kelly bottle capper but the Emily bottle capper works if you remove the metal plates that clasp around the bottle. They remove fairly easily with a pair of pliers and can be clipped back in place for other bottles.
can you use standard corks with these?
Justin High on Feb 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: These can be used with most "standard" corks. All of the corks we sell will fit inside these bottles. We do recommend using the specific Belgian or Champagne corks for these as they will be the appropriate length and porousness that you are looking for.
Can you use a hand capper on these (specifically, the one that comes with the premium kit)?
Patricia Doherty on May 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You can use a hand capper but you need to make some mild modifications. I used the Emily Bottle Capper (B490) which costs 16.99. To work on the Amber Champagne/Belgian Style bottles you need to use a pliers and pull out the metal plates that would usually fit around the neck of the bottle. (My husband pulled them out for me...his hands were stronger) Without the metal plates it fits nicely around the neck of this style bottle. Hand capping was them easy. No other hand capper available on this site worked.
what size label would be recommended for a bottle this size?
Mark Mesrobian on May 2, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I've used labels that are approxiately 4 inches wide x 4 inches tall. (Actual size is: 10.2 cm wide x 9.8 cm tall)

Good Quality, Exaclty as Advertized
These bottles are exaclty as described, thcker than a normal long neck and a regular 26mm cap fits them.

If you are thinking about using a cork and cage, the inside diameter is approx. .65 in. The inside diameter is .715 in. on St. Bernardus and Chimay bottles that use a #9 cork. I need to figure out if I need a #8 , or maybe a #7 cork

The glass is also not quite as thick as the commercial belgian bottles, but none of this was claimed in the description, I only hoped. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.

great little bottles
These are very nice, small (16.9 oz.) champagne type bottles. Base is punted, very heavy, dark glass. Shipping and packaging was outstanding! No damage at all, worth the shipping costs even though these don't qualify for free shipping.

Would buy again
Nice thick bottle. I would like to see something indicating the package contains glass or handle with care as one arrived busted. 1 out of 48 isn't bad though and I'm sure it was most likely an error on FedExs end as MoreBeer does include bubble wrap in the box to protect these.
