It looks like the two top rollers are geared so both are powered, only the bottom roller free wheels. Is this the case?
Gerald Kroupa on Feb 25, 2021
BEST ANSWER: That is the case. Two top are geared and gap easily adjusted with a calibrated dial. Very smooth.
What is the diameter of the drive shaft?
Gerald Kroupa on Feb 25, 2021
BEST ANSWER: The drive shaft is 1/4 in hex shaft. Fits most all drills. I however suggest you use a drill larger enough to grind your grains. Small simple home owner type drills may not have enough power to run the grinder for larger grain bill brews.
What is the fixed gap between the top rollers?
Tom l on Sep 6, 2021
Since the mill is made from aluminum and stainless, is it safe to clean by hosing down with water?
Jeffrey Hewit on Aug 1, 2022
BEST ANSWER: The rollers are 304 stainless steel, and the hopper is aluminum, but I don't trust that nuts and bolts and other things are stainless steel so I don't wash mine with water. I blow mine out with an air compressor.
Will this mill whole wheat berries for making bread?
Paul Blair on Apr 26, 2022
BEST ANSWER: No. My wife and i tried that. Great for beer making, not for bread flour.
What is the maximum recommended rpm?
Jeffrey Hewit on Aug 25, 2022
BEST ANSWER: 300 RPM
Has anyone figured out how to add a motor to this?
Adam Semitekol on Mar 28, 2023
BEST ANSWER: I have not. I haven't actually tried. I use a corded drill and the mill grinds fast enough that I don't find it to b e a burden. With its large hopper, I can usually do enough grain in two fills. Takes more time to weigh the grain than to mill it.
What is the diameter of the rollers?
Jesse Ewing on Jul 10, 2021
BEST ANSWER: 1 1/2 “
Will this work with a 3/8" drill or does it require a 1/2" drill?
Richard Swent on Apr 4, 2021
BEST ANSWER: 3/8" drill works great. I bought this hoping it would work with my old school dewalt 18v cordless drill, and I just ran the mill with it for the first time yesterday. It chewed through the grain like it was butter. Love it.
What is the height of the drive shaft from the bottom of the mill to the center of the shaft in mm?

Not Durable
The handle mounting strips out after a couple of uses. If you do buy one plan on using a drill to power it. Worked well for about 18 months and then gap setting/maintaining mechanism failed. I haven't disassembled it yet but I'm guessing something else stripped out. I would not recommend this item.

Mill Needs Improvements
While I rarely write reviews, I feel compelled to share my experience with this mill to hopefully help other's make the best decision when choosing the right mill for their needs.

I've had my 3-roller Mighty Mill for over a year now and unfortunately as much as I wanted to really like this mill, IMO, there are some improvements that need to be made.

1. Mill Gap is not consistent and doesn't actually represent true measurements when checking with a feeler gauge. The .025 setting is more like .035.

2. Crush can be inconsistent because the gap is different throughout the length of the rollers, and this is after ensuring the mill gap is set correctly on both ends.

3. When setting mill gap to .025, I would expect a pretty fine crush, as stated above not the case.

4. The crank handle should be modified to remove the skinny hexagonal shaft which will bend easily if your mill gets jammed during milling, also by removing the hexagonal shaft you could connect a 1/2" drill straight to the main shaft which provides better stability when milling.

What I do like about the mill are the following:

1. The geared rollers which guarantees that the rollers will grab the grain when milling even if they start to wear down.

2. Easy to adjust the mill gap even though it's not accurate.

3. Sturdy mill, however rollers are not the highest quality.

4. The hopper holds close to 10 LBS of grain and mill does do a great job of milling grains quickly.

Finally, if you are a BIAB brewer and looking for higher efficiency I do not recommend this mill. My 2-roller Barley Crusher Mill provided a tighter/more accurate roller gap consistency and much better efficiency.

Great Idea but Flawed Execution
Been using this mill a hole now and have had time to give a more accurate review.

The way the handle attaches to the post extending from the mill is very weak. Even tightening the set screw more doesn't help. Had to buy a proper set screw to get any meaningfully securing, and even then it still shears…which brings me to the real problem.

The third roller is not geared to either of the two upper rollers. When you try to grind by hand the grain packs up on top of the lower roller, and binds up the mill. This happens no matter what gap setting is set to. The only way to fix this, once it become compacted is to rotate to mill the opposite direction while hitting it with a rubber mallet, and then all while hitting it with a rubber mallet, start rotating it the proper direction.

Even if you try to rotating the handle while pouring in the grain it still binds up because the third lower roller is not initially rotating.

Fix…gear the lower roller to either of the two upper rollers.

This mill is a beast I highly recommend it. Being gear driven you don't have to worry about the rollers not pulling the grain through the mill

Finally got it working
I am new to using a grain mill and am excited at the opportunity save money on each brew. My first frustration was trying to use the crank handle with grains in the hopper. It wouldn't stay tight on the drive shaft thus not allowing me to grind the grain. I switched to using my 20V 1/2" drill and could not get the drive shaft to move clockwise. It felt like something was stuck in the rollers. I switched the drill to reverse (counter clockwise) and was able to move the grains thru the mill. The only problem was that the mill doesn't grind the grains going counter clockwise. I wish the instructions mentioned it. Finally, I put the drill on high speed and it finally started grinding. I really had to hold onto the drill so it jerk backwards. Now it works great and not long feel like it is jammed. I wish mill came with more instructions and helpful tips.

Good Mill with some design flaws
It’s a good mill with some design flaws.

Pros: sturdy mill with fairly easy adjustments. Mills grain quickly and with minimal dust. The baseplate is awesome and well fitted for a bucket.

Cons: The handle to hand crank is horrible. A round hole that is just tightened on with a screw for tension. Within 3 minutes it already was useless (would not hold) and I switched to the drill. Not a huge issue but the handle issues make it no longer an option to use. Additionally, be sure to only crank clockwise as the mill will send unmilled grain down if turning the other way. The protective ring for the top continually comes off and I’ll be implementing a duct tape solution to this problem.

Overall, I’m glad I have it. Some minor design flaws that just make it “slightly annoying” to adapt to do not keep this mill from being used. I just wish I had this information prior to buying to determine if this was the mill for me.

Works best with a 1/2" 18v minimum cordless drill.
This is a great mill; pretty solid, although the hopper is a bit flimsy. I gave this 4 instead of 5 for the below reasons:

1. The machined end of the shaft (to attach a 3/8 drill) is slightly off-kilter on mine, making me think my drill chuck was wobbly; tried with two different drills, same thing. I got myself a Dewalt 20v Max 1/2" which will chuck past the machined part directly onto the shaft, and the wobble disappeared.

2. Mill arrived with the base attached, but it wasn't on there correctly; my bad for not checking before running it. I did check that the screws were tight, but during the first run one of the adjusting knobs fell off, and the tightening nuts loosened. I removed the base completely, reinstalled the knob, tightened the base down like it owed me money, and it runs fine now.

A word of caution; if you're going to run this mill with a drill, do NOT use any drill other than one that has the 1-2 speed adjustment and the high-torque setting. My corded drill does not have the torque required unless I run it at high speeds, which isn't great for it.

Another warning; make absolutely sure that the fasteners on the hopper are really tight before running. Here's how I know this mill is a solid piece of equipment; one of the nuts (that I thought I tightened pretty good) vibrated off during the second run, and the nut of course went to the rollers. I'm lucky I didn't break my wrist, let alone the mill. Got it out, took the base off to check the rollers, all was fine. *NOTE* the machined-down part of the shaft wasn't true before this happened either.

Going to keep it, as it is a vast improvement on my old two-roller. Produces a very nice even crush, although I was a little alarmed when I saw what looked like intact kernels after running it at 0.025; quick rub between the fingers showed that they were very squished and fell apart easily.

Driving roller
Hello, I don't like the training roller shaft. It is too small and it is difficult to couple it with a coupling with a motor. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I would have liked a key path as it would have been easier for me. For the whole mechanism except the drive shaft, it's a super good buy for me, thank youWrite your review here. It must be at least 20 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.
