Description

  • Bavarian Wheat is the perfect fermentable base for all your traditional wheat beers
  • DME can be used as 100% of your fermentable sugar in extract brewing
  • Add for color correction, boost gravity, or improve head retention in all grain brewing
  • Briess Malt & Ingredients has had a focus on quality and innovation for more than 140 years, with all of their products being made in the U.S.A.

Dried Malt Extract (DME) is the primary sugar source in extract brewing and can be used in partial-mash or all grain brewing to adjust flavor, color and gravity of brews.  DME can also be used to increase head retention and body. Many brewers choose nutrient rich DME as the sugar source for making yeast starters as well. Briess dried malt extracts are made from 100% malt and water.

Bavarian Wheat: 100% pure malt extract made from 65% Malted Wheat and 35% Malted barley, and water.

Bavarian Wheat is the perfect fermentable base for all your traditional wheat beers. It can be used in the production of extract wheat beers, and in the production of all-grain beers to adjust color, flavor, and gravity of wheat and other styles of beers.

Typical Analysis:

  • Color (8° Plato): 30 SRM
  • Fermentability: 75%
  • Solids: 97%
  • 1.043 PPG

Easy to add to the wort after mash to eliminate the possibility of a stuck mash using wheat malt. I use this for adding a bit of wheat to my Kolsch-Style recipe.

Great
This is as good as you can purchase. Compared to the LME it is easier to get out of packages.

Great fo making Heff
Really simple process to make a good Hefferwiessen. 2 of these and some german hops are all that's needed to get a pretty passable Heff. I used 1oz of Hallertau Mittelfruh Hops (Pellets).
Boil for 1 hour and you are done, apart from adding some yeast when it is all cooled down.
