Here's how it works:

  • Simply design and print out your label. There are a number of online services that offer free beer/wine label templates

  • Place your bottle in hot water for half a second. A blow dryer or steamer will work as well.

Look good and easy to remove
I really love these for labeling my wine bottles. I never have worried about labeling beer bottles but I want my wine bottles to have that extra flair. They're a heat shrink sleeve that you insert your bottle and a standard piece of printed paper into (I use resume paper to give it an even nicer look) then dunk your bottle in boiling water for three seconds to shrink the sleeve. If the water is less than boiling I have had to let the bottle stay in the hot water longer to get the air bubbles out. I also trim the bottom of the sleeve after shrinking with a razor blade to give the bottom of the bottle a clean look.
The label holds up quite well in a cooler although water can get to the paper if left for extended periods in a watery cooler. The best part your label looks great but is a breeze to cleanup. Just take a knife to the sleeve and it all comes right off and the outside of the bottle is ready for your next wine.
I have had trouble ordering these in the summer, the sleeves can shrink in the mail. Now that more flavor is offering the sleeves I expect that problem to be a lesser risk as there shipping is faster and better packaged than my previous supplier.
