Description

This weldless thermowell is made from solid 304 stainless steel. It has a 1/2" BSP thread which is 40mm long (1.57 inches). Includes silicone o-ring, stainless steel slimline nut and also the extra long nut for mounting a thermometer.

Could this be installed in the sidewall of an igloo cooler mash tun?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t think it will work because the threaded shank isn’t long enough to span the thick insulated walls of the cooler and leave room for threading nuts on either side. It works fine on thin walled vessels like a stainless fermenter or kettle.

BEST ANSWER: If you are able to cut a clean hole, you should be able to install this on the side of most fermenters or kettles.
