Keep your yeast or ML happy and your ferment warm during those cold winter months with this flexible heater made by Fermentap. Using tape to adhere, this flexible heating wrap can be attached directly to your fermenter or can be used to heat the space in a box (or refrigerator) that the fermenter is in. Depending on your configuration and insulation, you can increase the temperature of your wine from 5-20 degrees Fahrenheit.

If using carboy or bucket you can attach directly using tape (as seen in photo above.) We recommend electrical tape as it sticks and unsticks the easiest. Heating can be contolled by sticking either the entire wrap or a portion of the wrap to the fermenter. In an open evironment we see a heating differential between carboy and ambient of 10-15 degrees. This differential can be increased by using our carboy bag to insulate a carboy (this has been tested.) To decrease the temperature differential, stick only a portion of the heating wrap to the fermenter.

For precise results, we recommend using our temp controller (FE610) and carboy thermowell (FE612) for the ultimate in fermentation temperature contol.

For heating small stainless variable volume fermenters and barrels up to 30 gallons a single FermWrap! works great. For volumes of 60 gallons or more, we recommend using two or more FermWraps (we do this in our winery Olin Wines all the time!).

With 40 watts of heat spread over two square feet it provides gentle even heating. Draws 40 watts. 115V. Manufactured by Fermentap.

Can this be used on plastic Fermontser 7gal?
Timothy Chilcoat on Jan 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I have also used it on my Spidel 30 L ( 7.9 Gal). And works excellent. I did use a beach towel to wrap around my plastic Spide 30 L as temps were dropping down into the 30 s in my shop.
Can I put this on a stainless steal fermenter?
Cainon brown on Jan 3, 2021
BEST ANSWER: I use mine on a 7 gal stainless steel fermenter and am VERY happy with it. I brew in my garage and with an inkbird controller, this heater will keep my beer at 68 F even when the garage temp is 30 F. I use black electrical tape to hold it against the fermenter. To be fair, I do wrap the fermenter with insulation right over the heater.
When using this with the Neoprene sleeve does it go inside or outside the sleeve?
Ryan Heideman on Apr 12, 2020
BEST ANSWER: You will get the most efficient use of your heater by putting it directly onto your fermenter and inside the neoprene sleeve.
Will this work with the 7.5 gallon anvil bucket fermenter? Cheers
Jeff Shoemaker on Jan 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I have a 7 gallon BrewBucket, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t work on the Anvil. I wrap it around the fermenter and use masking tape to tape the edges to the fermenter.
Can this be used on the stainless steel brewbucket fermenter?
John Lilli on Apr 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: On the outside of the fermenter yes. Works great with a bit of extra insulation around it for improved heat retention.
How do you use the FermWrap with the Fermzilla and the Insulating Jacket? I thought the Fermzilla couldn't use a heater because it's plastic.

FermZilla Conical Fermenter - 7.1 gal. / 27 L
BEST ANSWER: I would not use the FermWrap. It is too wide to fit the FermZilla and it is rated at 40 watt. Kegland suggests under 30 watt is safe. I used 4" wide reptile heat wrap for my FermZilla. That is 22 watts and I have had no problems.

Did not fit the 7 gal X1 Uni, however...
While this didn't work out for my fermenter, I have repurposed it in an ice cooler to keep fermenting kombucha at 80 F along with an Inkbird ITC 308.

Not great
I had to recrimp the wire connection on to the heater after the first use. Not easy to wrap around fermentor and actually have it stay in place.

Works pretty well. Did what I needed it to.
I was skeptical about this being able to raise 5.5 gallons by 8 degrees, but it did. The carboy has ribs on it every couple of inches, so the wrap pretty much rests on the ribs, then you have to tape it in place. I used a controller in conjunction with this wrap and it worked out very good.

FermWrap works great.
When fermenting a smaller batch it can be difficult to get to 80 F for a red wine fermentation (I am in the Monterey area). This gives me the ability to easily reach my desired temperature.

One of the easier ways to control heating in your Fermentation chamber.
I like this product. Used it with an Inkbird ITC-308. Plug in and set the temp - the only downside is I have not found a great way to mount it on my fermenter. I tried hook and loop pads, tape, rubber bands...rubber bands are the best so far. I wish it came with a glue-backed magnetic strip and little embedded metal tabs so you can stick it on when you need it and remove it when you don't. For diacetyl rests it's great, or if your fermentation spot is a bit chilly...this can fix it quick.

it works
I used it for a Belgian Strong Ale that needed warmer temperatures for fermentation up to 80 F (27 C) and it did it efficiently. I used a neoprene jacket from my Brewzilla setup as insulation
